Tropical Spice On Ice Skates For

Sarasota Memorial Hospital Breast Care Center A Big Success

To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Tropical Spice On Ice, the local adult synchronized ice skating team hosted an ice skating showcase.   Competition programs by the team and by individual TSI skaters were featured.  Guest skaters included Robbie Crowley and Daniel Raad, USFSA Senior Men's competitors, and Amanda Evora & Mark Ladwig , Senior Pair Skaters, 4th in the United States in 2008.

The team dedicates all its performances to breast cancer awareness.  Four members of this group have been affected by this insidious disease.  In memory of two team skaters who have passed away from breast cancer, the team decided to concentrate their fundraising efforts to benefit the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Breast Health Fund.  This fund is available for local people who do not have the resources to afford mammograms or breast cancer related treatments.

The evening was a great success.  Thanks to all who contributed for the the SMH Breast Health Fund.  Thanks to all skaters who participated in this event.
